satisfied.
I've been craving for vietnamese food for the longest time and so for date night, Mike and I went to this vietnamese restaurant. We didn't know that they close early, so we ordered out and Mike had his first experience with vietnamese food (well he said he had a sub from some other vietnamese restaurant but it was just a normal sub). While we waited, I ordered bubble tea for us cause he's never heard of it before and he liked it! Didn't even mind the bubbles at all.
Sadie 24/7
So since i'm not working and just waiting for baby Mckenzie to come out, all my time is spent with Sadie and I LOVE it! She's definitely in her "terrible twos" phase (and i heard 3 is worse, just great :P) - a lot of attitude, a lot of talking back in baby talk and everything else you can imagine. Attitude or not, she still brightens up my day. I'm trying to spend as much time with her as I can before Mckenzie comes because I know that all my attention won't be on her anymore, which kind of worries me.But Mike always reassures me that Sadie will learn to understand and that he's sure, every parent that brings home a second or third child goes thru the same thing.
What's new with Sadie?
- she knows how to count up to 13 - she can count up to 10 in spanish
- she's learning a lot of new spanish words, all thanks to Dora and Diego... who know kids actually learn from these shows.
- when she meets someone new she says "hi, my name is Sadie" then point at me and say "and this is mommy, say hi mommy" haha
- she is now sleeping thru the whole night! no more 3 am wake ups asking for milk. i'm so happy!
P.S - 7 weeks till the big day, will she come on time or not? that's the question.

Veggie Sadie
Just a few Sadie updates:
Earlier this month she went thru a phase of not eating anything AT ALL. Just a tiny bites here and there but would not sit down and eat a meal... well, that changed a couple weeks ago. I'm glad it did cause it got me worrying.
She's eating but is still very picky. She's picky, yes, but only picky between her meats, fruits and veggies. I mean, she LOVES her fruits and veggies and HATES her meats. Mike says she's going to be a vegetarian.... we'll see about that. I'm glad she's at least eating the healthy stuff. She loves apples, strawberries, bananas, oranges, broccoli, cucumbers, a little bit of tomatoes and carrots... those are her favorite. I have yet to try out new things with her. As for meat, she barely eats any... The only thing meaty she'll eat is chicken nuggets. We had chicken last night for dinner, she ate her rice and veggies but poked at the chicken. Not sure what to do to get her to eat meat!

When Sadie sleeps at my mom's, i'm gonna guess she's always with her Tita Feeya a.k.a "Ala" haha. This is her mitten that Sophia turned into a puppet. Sadie loves it and gets us to play with it all the time .

She is saying a lot of words and knows more than I thought she knew. The other day we were going thru her animals book and she listed almost half the animals that were in the book, I was surprised. The few she missed were hippo, panda bear etc. But she pretty much knew the basic animals.
Speaking of animals, she knows most of the noises the animals make. But when you ask her what a horse makes she says, "yeeehawww". She'll learn eventually.
She is getting to be quite the dancer and actress. She'll sometimes sit on the couch with me and we'll just make every face we can possibly make to each other. Her facial expressions are hilarious. She loves to dance like a ballerina which gets me so excited to put her into dance that much more! And she definitely knows how to wimper when things don't go her way. And when it doesn't, she'll walk away facing the ground with a pouty face and she'll shrug her shoulders. It's quite funny.

we love visitors
This past weekend we had Mike's little sister and bro-in-law come visit for a few days. They arrived to a home with music blaring and no one being home at the time (Mike was at work and I had quickly left to pick up Sadie from my mom's)... but good thing the weather was nice oh, and the back door was open too haha
It was also Sadie's first time meeting Amanda and Coady. She was so shy at first, crawling in a ball and laying on the floor barely making any eye contact. But not even an hour passing by, she was all over the two. She LOVED them, especially Coady... pretty sure she forgot Mike even existed. Sorry Mike :P
Saturday, we ordered pizza and watched the fights.
Sunday, we lazed around for half the day, Mike took both Amanda and Coady out of the city to try his sled out for a couple hours. After, we went to the movies and watched Drive Angry in 3D -- it was an alright movie but it was a waste watching it in 3D i think... nothing very special about it being in 3D.
2 tickets to watch Drive Angry in 3D - $31.99
Popcorn and drinks - $14.34
Coady running up the escalator with drink and nachos in hand, tripping and trying to save his food therefore ending up with a deep gash in his knee - priceless.

So as we were on our way to the theatre, Mike and I get to the top of the stairs/escalator and as we're walking we a hear a crash. We look back and I see Coady pretty much layin on the escalator comin up with some nacho chips on the floor. He gets up limping towards the table with condiments on it and puts down his nachos and drink and rolls up his right pant leg up and all you can see is blood. He had run up the stairs, somehow lost balance or tripped and fell on the escalator. The edge of the escalator dug into his knee cap and it left a deep gash. It was so bad and so much blood coming out of it. It was nasty. All the while, both Amanda and Mike were laughing pretty hard (ok, I might have had a few laughs in there as well). Mike was totally enjoying it the most out of all of us I think. When we got home Coady cleaned it up and put a band-aid on it but it just wouldn't stop bleeding it. I was pretty disgusted looking it, I couldn't handle seeing all that blood. It left poor Coady gimp for the night and a bit the next day. Coady - now you know not to run up escalators :P
After cleaning up blood, we decided to play Monopoly - till 5 in the morning. It was a fun night tho.

Monday was Coady and Amanda's last day here. Everyone slept in pretty good considering we all went to bed at 5 a.m. We went to South Centre Mall and Chinook to do a little shopping. Sadie loved it, she was running around every where. Thank goodness Coady and Amanda were around cause I was running out of energy chasing her around. She is definitely a handfull, good thing she's cute haha. After we had a late dinner and just relaxed till it was time for bed.
So good having them visit. Mike definitely missed them. We were talking and he was saying how homesick he felt when they left and that if I had asked him if we could move up to Fort Mac, he would say "yes" just like that. We are excited to see the whole family when they come and visit when Mackenzie is born. It will be nice to see everyone again!

catching up.
I'm not a huge Valentine's day kind of person, so Mike and I didn't exactly do anything special or go out. But I did do a little something that he'd find the morning of. I stayed up late and baked him a big heart shaped cookie and found little love quotes, comics and pictures. I printed the ones I liked and posted it all over the house where he'd find them in the morning ie. the front door where he gets the paper, his thermos, the mirror etc. It wasn't much but it took me forever!
I told him no presents or cards or anything because I really don't find Valentine's day to be a big thing, but in the morning when I came down for breakfast, there was a card and chocolates on the counter. It made me smile and I absolutely loved the card.

On a different note, my little Sadie baby is growing up to be such a big girl. She is talking more and has a lot more attitude. I know i've been slacking with the updates, so here is a quick update on my not so little girl.
As you can see, Sadie has bangs now... she looks so much older. I can't believe she's growing up. ahh!
She LOVES to say "oops, sorry". It is the cutest thing, you just have to be here to hear her say it.
She is such a diva and has a lot of attitude. She will seriously point at you and say "NO!" in such a stern voice.
She is now calling me "mommy"! For the longest time she would call my mom and I "mama" and I was so worried she'd be calling us the same thing forever but everytime she sees me or wants me, she yells out "mommy". It really makes my day hearing her say that. She can also call Mike with an "M" now. So no more "bike" or "bikey" haha And as for Sophia, she still calls her "Ala". We have no idea where she got that from, but from time to time she'll either call her "Ala" or "Tita". Depends on her mood I guess. haha
She LOVES to dance. Especially like a little ballerina. I can't wait to put her in lessons!!
And she is so cuddly, I love it! She gives me hugs all the time and I love how she climbs into bed with me in the mornings, gets underneath the covers and she puts her arm around me. TOO CUTE!
So... I haven't exactly started potty training her :S I know, i'm a little late, but I'm planning on potty training her starting next week. So wish me luck!!! I found this Dora little potty thing to put over the adult potty, so hopefully that motivates her to go. But she absolutely hates the toilet and the loud noises it makes when you flush it. So i'm a little worried, but fingers crossed she will be trained by the time baby girl Mackenzie comes out.

So Mike is gone to Trout Lake, BC on a sledding trip for 4 - 5 days with his buddies. He LOVES sledding... and when it's not sledding it's about cars - mainly corvettes. He tries to go sledding every weekend and talks about it all the time. I just miss him so much right now. But I know he's having a great time and I'm happy he is able to take a break from working because he has been working so hard. I just wish it was Sunday already... as much as I like having a big bed to myself, I would much rather be sharing it with him. 3 more days!!!

Birthday!
Mike's Birthday past on the 31st of January and he turned 31. Wait... did I just realize NOW that he turned 31 on the 31st? Oh man do I suck! Ah well. That day he went sledding with a buddy of his all day. He definitely had a blast... he came home late talking about how nice it was and the things he was doing. I love hearing him talk about the things he loves. He gets so into and i'm sure he can talk for days!
Anyways, while he was gone I decided to bake him a cake so he can blow candles out when he gets home. I was a little behind schedule but better late than never... I finished the cake and he blew out his candles before bed. I had a piece of cake before bed and Mike had a couple bites of mine... sooooo yummy! We finished that cake pretty fast it was so good!
