Friday Fun

Friday Friday, gotta get down on Friday! And for this family, we get down by ordering take-out and going to the race track.

Since we got back from Newfoundland, Mike's been obsessed with the racetracks and racing. I mean, he LOVES cars (especially his car) and he reads about cars EVERYDAY! Cars and racing go hand in hand so obviously he's got to put his baby to good use and race. Anyways, there's this racetrack just 10 minutes from our house that holds drag races every friday for any car that is legal to drive. Tons of cars show up to race and there are a lot of people who show up to watch. The first time we went, I was surprised to see families with little kids there but happy at the same time that this was an event that everyone can attend and have it be safe.
Mike has been going every friday and gets about 2 or 3 races in. And when it's not too late and not too cold out, i'll take the kids and we'll stay and usually watch just one race (the line up is so long that it takes probably an hour or so till he gets to run his first race). Sadie gets so excited seeing all the fast cars, she loves it just as much as daddy does. She just isn't a huge fan of the loud noises that some of the cars make.

So this friday, we started out with ordering Vietnamese from a restaurant close to our house that we just found out about. I LOVE Vietnamese food! And what we ordered has been the best we've had yet! After that, off to the races. Sadie, of course, wanted to look at every car there and would get so excited everytime a car pulled up to race. She also loved all the space that was available to run and jump around in. As for Mckenzie, she is seriously the best baby! She slept thru most of it and when she was awake, did not make a peep and just sat in her car seat watching Sadie run around. She was full of smiles all day but then again, when is she not full of smiles. We got home pretty late, so I gave the girls a quick bath and off to bed they went.

Mike is still at the track racing. I can't wait to hear all about his races and see all the times he ran.............. haha

Mckenzie in her swing while we eat dinner

Did I mention, Sadie is THE most pickiest eater ever. She doesn't like any food that has flavour. Here she has plain spaghetti noodles with cucumbers. She LOVES this stuff!

Sadie says: "look that's daddy in the yellow car!"

Mckenzie rolling over @ 4 months

So here's Mckenzie rolling over. Sherri and I were talking on the couch when all of a sudden I saw Mckenzie roll over in the corner of my eye. I freaked out juuuust a little (haha ya right... more like a lot). Anyways, here's a video of her rolling over for the third time. We're so happy for her.

Our big girl right after she rolled over.

We're Back!

O.K! I have been out of the blogging world for a while now and I have always wanted to come back to it but I never find the time to blog. For all those bloggers who are crazy busy with work, school, kids, husbands/boyfriends/significant others etc. etc., I give you props for keeping up with your blogs. But I am going to try to be consistent and put some time and effort into this.

Anyways, while I've been gone, quite a few things has happened this summer. Where do I start? --
Well, first I would like to mention that our newest babygirl Mckenzie is 4 months old! Can you believe it?!? 4 MONTHS OLD! She is growing up way too fast for our liking. She is smiling a lot more, TALKING like you wouldn't believe and is trying to roll over (one of these days it'll happen). She is growing like a monster. Seriously! She is already wearing most of her 6 month outfits and some of her 12 month outfits. A lot of her 3 month outfits are all packed up and in bags. Not gonna lie, while I was packing her 3 month sleepers and onesies, I got a little upset that my baby will no longer be a baby. I still can't believe Sadie will be 3 in 2 months. *tear* I think I can wait for them to be in their teens haha. If they're anything like me, I could wait a life time for them to get into their teens. Did I also mention that Mckenzie sleeps alllllll thruuuuu the night? Amazing, right?! She is the best sleeper since... well... me! haha. But really, she sleeps from 8:30 - 9 p.m. until 8:30 - 9 a.m. I love it and can't complain. Unfortunately, even with her sleeping all night, I'm still usually tired all the time. I just never get enough sleep it seems. Ugh!

Now Sadie. Oh boy. This girl has a ton of attitude and is such a little drama queen. I wonder where she gets her attitude from ( it can't be me.... ). She's in the phase of copying everyone. Whether it be what you say or what you do. The other day my mom was over and asked me to make Kenzie a bottle of milk. Sadie then grabbed her baby and asked me to make her baby a bottle of milk. It's pretty funny when she copies one of us with what we say because most of the words she can't pronounce and it just comes out all jumbled. We just have to watch what we say now. More so daddy needs to watch what he says. Sadie is also very into the princess thing. I have an old tiara from one of the pageants I was in and she wears it all the time. She also loves to dance like how the princesses dance in their movies. This long pooh bear doll that is about a foot shorter than she is is her "prince" and she dances with him and carries him everywhere in the house. She loves to dance and I get so excited thinking of her being in dance class next fall. Right now I am in the process of potty training her. Yes, potty training! She still doesn't like to tell us when she has gone or if she needs to go and we don't know why. You think it'd be uncomfortable for her. I'm just trying to be really patient and wait till she's ready. I just hope that she is potty trained soon. Like by the end of this year soon. Wish me luck!

We spent two weeks in Newfoundland this summer and did some painting around the house. Talking about Newfoundland will probably be in another post tho. But we had a great time. Even with the cold weather.

Till next time, here are some pictures of us and the girls.
