a Frozen birthday party

This past weekend, we had our oldest baby girl turn six! That's right, S I X! And even though she has grown so much, she is still the same - always happy, has so much imagination, such a little performer whether it be dancing, singing or acting, always a princess, and still jumping off anything and everything!

With this fun loving new six year-old, came a party. A Frozen party to be exact. She had asked for a Frozen birthday party since the movie came out. She literally reminded me every month after the movie came out, that she was to have a Frozen birthday party and I wasn't supposed to forget - It was hard not to.

So after months and months and months of her patiently waiting for her birthday to come and having that constant reminder of what kind of party she was going to have, the day finally came! She was so excited when November came. She would ask what games we were going to play, what we were going to eat, who she was going to invite. She was definitely mommy's little helper.

So here it is, a Frozen birthday party for Queen Sadie...

 We made hot chocolate packages for the girls once the party was done. They absolutely loved it - I mean, who doesn't love hot chocolate with tons of marshmallows ;)

 Pin the nose on Olaf. One of the games for the girls to play. I am the worst at drawing and it took me a half hour to draw this out. The girls knew who he was and that's all that mattered to me haha

If you know me, I'm a huge procrastinator - so bad! I left Sadie's cake last minute and didn't do any of the baking until 3 hours before the party. I'm grateful and so happy that everything turned out. Sadie loved her cake and couldn't stop laughing at the fact that a toy Elsa was on the cake! She thought it was the funniest thing she's ever seen! lol

 Later, they played "do you want to build a snowman?". They ended up looking like mummies but a carrot nose and buttons helped make them look more like snowmen haha

 This was the game that they kept playing and playing. It was so nice to see all the girls taking turns and helping each other out.

 And once everyone was done "building" snowmen, they ripped all the toilet paper apart and had a toilet paper fight. It was everywhere! We later played a game of "who can put the most toilet paper in the recycling box". They had tons of fun playing this game, too. haha!

 We then played "stomp the snowball". I tied a ribbon that was attached to a white balloon to their ankles and had the girls try to stomp each others "snowballs" while protecting theirs.

 After games, the girls took a little kinder break. They ate and opened their kinder surprise eggs and played with their fairies that came with the egg.

We then sang, "happy birthday" to the birthday girl, had some cake, opened presents and watched Frozen.

Sadie loved everything about the party and couldn't stop thanking me for throwing her the best birthday party she's ever had! It put the biggest smile on my face seeing her have so much fun with her friends and seeing her so happy after the fact. An exhausting weekend but all worth it in the end. 

T.I.M.E

"Make time for your kids. Enjoy their laughter and silliness. They are so innocent and real.

Make them feel special, because they truly are the biggest blessing of your life."

I couldn't agree more with this quote. I love it so much. It's true, you know. Time with your kids is so important. Setting your priorities so that your kids/family are on the top of your list. They don't need all the cool toys or have all the money in the world spent on them. They just need your time. Whether it be in the living room, kitchen, their bedroom, on the floor, in the backyard - wherever it may be. Just spend time with them.

Today, while Mike was at work, Sadie called him asking to play "Go Fish" with her when he was done. So, as soon as he got home from work, he took a quick shower and there they were - sat at the kitchen table playing "Go Fish". They played a few rounds of the game until it was time for bed and Mike had to leave for the gym. When Mike left, Sadie asked to call him. So I gave her the phone and she started talking to him, "Hey dad, I had a fun time playing cards with you. Good night, I love you.". That phone call melted my heart and it put the biggest smile on my face. A few games of "Go Fish" was all it took to make her night.

the sweetest thing...

With Declan nearing his four month mark (yes, he will be turning four months and no, I can't believe it) his personality has been starting to come out more and more. He can be one of two things: 1. he can be THE saddest baby. His cries are so sad, it literally sounds like he is in so much pain, when all he wants is a bottle or to be held/have someone around him. OR 2. he can be THE happiest baby ever. Which has been most of the time lately. He loves to smile and laugh. Whether it be during his early morning feeds or changing his diaper or putting him to sleep. He will smile and laugh like you are the funniest person in the world. I fall in love with him again and again just seeing his smile.

That being said, he has shown a liking to his big sister Sadie. Sadie is so good with Declan. She loves him unconditionally and you can tell. She always wants to hold him, feed him and just be around him. Whenever she hears Declan make one little cry, she quickly runs to me and says "mommy, my baby is crying, I need to make him happy o.k?". Then she runs off in his room or to where ever he is and I hear her trying to to calm him down (usually by just making loud noises haha). She has been doing that since the day we brought him home and I think he is noticing her a lot more, now that he is older. He is being more interactive with Sadie. Either talking to her, laughing at/with her or just giving her that sweet smile of his. It is the sweetest thing to see and it melts my heart every time.

Sadie is 3!!!!

A week ago, our princess turned 3 years old!! I still can't believe how big she is getting. It really seemed like yesterday she was learning how to crawl. The weekend of her birthday, we threw her a last minute birthday party (Mike and I figured, why not!). We invited some friends and neighbors over. Thank you to those who made it out with last minute invites! Mike and I really appreciate it and Sadie loved all her gifts!!

Here are just some pictures that happened over the weekend and on her birthday :)

Eating some birthday cake

2 hours before she woke up, I blew up some balloons and taped them all over the floor in the girls' room. It was easy to do but I had to be verrrry quiet to make sure I didn't wake her up. That was the hard part. When I got to my second last balloon, another balloon that I didn't tape down so well ended up floating to the ceiling and popped. And it was a LOUD pop! I froze and my heart was pretty much beating out of my chest, hoping Sadie didn't wake up from the loud pop. To my surprise, she didn't. Thank goodness. I taped the last two balloons down, grabbed a few of her building blocks and placed them over the tapes to secure it and bolted out of her room.

It was a success. She woke up, came downstairs and got me. We went back upstairs and I told her to turn the lights on... when she did, I heard her gasp and say "wowwww" haha. I really wish I got a picture of her reaction.  

The eve of her birthday, daddy came home from work and we packed up the kiddies in our sweet mini van and off we went to see the christmas lights. After the christmas lights, we took her bowling. She called it baseball tho. Don't know where she got that from.

Just a few Sadie-things:

She LOVES anything Princess and Wizard of Oz. It is so hard to get her to wear a shirt and pants. All she wants to wear are dresses because that's what Dorothy and the Princesses wear. She also got Aurora slippers for her birthday and when she is in the house, they are on at all times!

She loves doing puzzles.

She is very demanding and has a lot of attitude. Even sometimes daddy can't handle it... I don't even want to think about when she becomes a teen.

When she does something that she knows she's not supposed to do, she goes to time-out. When mommy does something she doesn't like, mommy goes to time-out.

She can count to 20 :)

She loves to pose and show off her dresses.

She is SO dramatic. Just ask anyone who knows her.

She loves McDonalds. Not because of the food, but because she meets so many new friends there. Mommy meets new friends there as well. But I love how she is can interact with other kids and get a long with them. Mind you, most of them are all older kids. She just loves the older kids.

She's very into using the word "NO!"

A few words/sayings that has been added to her vocabulary:

"the sun is up, i'm awake. no more sleeping"
