big girl in her big girl bed

Mckenzie helping dadda set up her crib into a toddler bed.

With Kenzie's 'new' bed, the girls have been sleeping together a lot in it. These are some ways we'd find them sleeping together.

Her new spot for nap time. Out of bed and right by the door

Halloween with Rapunzel and Tinkerbell

Painting and pumpkin carving the Sunday before Halloween. And this year was Mckenzie's first time trick-or-treating. Took the girls over to Chinook Mall and they had a blast! At first Mckenzie would give a weird look on the people's faces when they dropped candy in her little pail. But she got the hang of it after a couple stores. This year, my friend/neighbor and her adorable little guy came with. It's a lot more fun having another adult with ya that's for sure. And her little guy was so patient with the girls. Mckenzie did take forever going in and out of the stores but he was so quiet and laid back. Nothing bothered him.

Halloween night was a chilly one. With the snow already on the ground and weather being below 0, we dressed the girls up in layers, their winter jackets, toques and mitts. Mckenzie was such a trooper. We had only planned to take her to all of our neighbors houses but instead we did that and more. After about the 10th house, her eyes were watering and cheeks rosy red so we decided to call it quits for her. She definitely didn't like that idea. Every time we had trick-or-treaters, she would try to make a run for it outside and tag a long with the others. It definitely gets tiring being 38 weeks pregnant and chasing an 18 month old 5 or 6 times. Sadie went to a few more houses down the street. She went to a house with an elderly lady living in it and she didn't have candy to give her, so she gave Sadie money instead. After that, Sadie was pretty much done haha. She didn't want to hold her bag anymore cause she had to keep her money safe (after all, that's what the lady told her). All in all, it was a good Halloween for the girls.

such a TEASE!

So this is me early Friday morning at about 4:00 am all ready to go to the hospital. I mean, waking up at about 2:45 in the morning with contractions 2 - 3 minutes apart lasting a minute long, you'd think it was time... right?

WRONG!

So here I am sitting in bed at 2:45 am, trying to figure out that what I'm feeling are actual contractions. So I sit and I sit and I sit and I sit till 3:00 comes and I decide to wake Michael up and tell him what's going on. When I tell him that I'm having contractions. His response is, "No, not right now" and then falls back asleep. Gotta love my sleepy Michael. I decide to wait just a little longer to see if my contractions will get closer and stronger, and they do. Before actually leaving tho, I decided to call the Alberta Health Link and see what the nurses opinion was. She advised to go to the hospital and that it was time. So I call up my awesome brother and sis-in-law to drive on over from good ol' Mardaloop at 3 a.m to watch the girls cause "I'm having a baby!". They get to the house and off we go to the hospital.

Now, the confusing part... we get to the hospital and strap my belly to the device that reads the baby's heart beat and contractions. As time goes, my contractions start to decrease. Nurse checked how far I was and I was still a couple cm dilated and that head hasn't even dropped. Insert sad face here. She told me to walk around for an hour or two in the hospital and when I come back, she'd check me again. We walked around for an hour, ate and walked around some more and my contractions were slowly fading. SOOO CHOKED! Talked to my doctor this time and she said that this happens sometimes and that I could have contractions one day and then not have the baby till a week later. I was so upset. This baby is definitely already acting like daddy - making mommy wait. So we drove back home and here I am, 38 weeks pregnant. Back sore, legs sore, WHOLE BODY sore! Waiting patiently and eager to meet this little guy.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. Fingers crossed for good news!

DADDA!!!

Her reaction everytime dadda comes home. Always makes my day.

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

I guess I spoke too soon about having more free time since being a stay at home mom. It's been pretty hectic here. Visiting with friends & neighbors, doctor appointments, family time and just trying to get the girls out as much as possible before their baby brother comes.

For now, here are pictures from what we've been doing these past few weeks.

 all ready for the library

 Mckenzie found the coloring table

 Sadie's first library card
Visiting Auntie Trezzy at her work. Sadie got her nails done and Mckenzie hung out at her station

my mom getting her nails done too!

Mckenzie would sit at the entrance and wave bye to who ever walked or drove by the salon.
Auntie Trezzy attempted to paint Mckenzie nails but had no luck LOL

As for baby news. He's definitely testing mommy's patience. So we're still waiting.......

I'm back....

And same with these two little cuties with a new addition on the way.
We are patiently waiting for the arrival of our baby boy/brother. Less than 6 weeks to go :)

Figured I'll have a little time to spare blogging since I've joined the SAHM club.

http://jshealthfitness.blogspot.com/ - check it, save it, enjoy it.

picture update

These two absolutely LOVE each other. Although, Sadie still needs to learn how to share... she just LOVES being with Mckenzie. Playing with her, cuddling with her, making her laugh - she just always wants to be where Kenzie is and doing the same things she's doing. And I know Kenzie adores Sadie. Today, I was feeding Kenzie lunch and she heard Sadie singing coming down the stairs. Kenzie turned her face in the direction her sisters voice was coming from and started bouncing in her chair and had the biggest smile. Sadie finally walked into the kitchen/living room and Kenzie just stared laughing. It was the cutest thing i've seen so far!

Sadie & Daddy. She got a tool box with a whole bunch of tools from 'Santa' and now everytime daddy has something to fix or do that needs some sort of tool, Sadie grabs her tool box and 'helps' him. She loves her daddy. Every time when he comes home from work, she'll hear the door open and she'll have a big smile on her face and say "daddy's home!" and run down to see him.

Mckenzie has been sitting up all on her own now. She loves being able to sit and play with her toys and being able to have more control. I haven't seen her on her hands and knees lately. I think she's taking a little break from trying to crawl cause she just enjoys sitting on her bum!
Sadie : "Mommy, I want to paint my nails"
Me: "O.k"
Sadie: "Mommy, I'm a princess, I want my earrings, I like purple, I want long hair."

Every time I'm at my vanity desk, Sadie loves sitting on the floor or with me and just watches me. Whether i'm doing my make-up, my hair, putting on jewellery. Whatever it is, she will just sit there and watch. Most of the time she'll ask to use a few of my brushes here and there... or say "my turn, my turn".

I am also starting a new blog on health and fitness. I really want to focus on eating healthy, being fit and active. And this time stick to it. I figured keeping track of what I'm doing or will be doing will be a good way to stick to this 'new year resolution'. So wish me luck and stay tuned... i'll post the site address later.
