babies babies.

our newest addition to the familia

My sister-in-law had her baby early! Her due date was in January but I guess this baby couldn't wait till then. So everyone, i'd like you to meet Ezekial Enzo Soria. He was born on December 26, 2011 and weighed 6 lbs 15 oz. Such a tiny little boy. And I can't wait to meet him and kiss his cute little face.

So congrats to my big bro, Edrian and his wife Erly. I also don't want to forget Erick - you are going to be the best big brother ever! Love you guys!

This little guy was also born this month. My new baby cousin, Alexander Lacap. Can't wait to meet him too. 2011 was baby year for our family :)

I hope everyone had a great christmas with all your loved ones. I had a great time spending it with Mike and the girls, my mom and brother. I did, however, miss the rest of my family members and good friends back in Winnipeg. Counting down the days till I see you all!

counting down the days

So as much as I love the christmas season, I'm not the biggest fan of running around EVERYWHERE into EVERY store and having to wait in line for what seems to be FOREVER! Let's just say I don't exactly like the days leading to Christmas with all the hustle and bustle. I do, however, love when the day comes. When we can be with our family and loved ones. Well some anyways. This time of year really makes me miss my family and friends back in Winnipeg. But I'm grateful for the family I have here with me. I love just being able to somewhat relax and have fun with the girls, Mike and my mama. I love seeing the look on Sadie's face when she opens a gift and watching her react to it. It cracks us up everytime. This is also Mckenzie's first Christmas. We are so excited and beyond happy that we have her here with us. I love the food my mom cooks (filipino food, yumm) on christmas eve... you can never go wrong with food. And I love the fact that this is the day where Mike isn't working haha. He works so hard and manages to find time for myself and the girls. For that, I am so thankful for all that he does for us each and every day. It makes me so happy to see him just be able to relax for the few days he has off before he returns to chaos a.k.a work. And that's what I look forward to every christmas season. So you can count on me counting down the days till that day is here. I've finished all my christmas shopping and wrapped all the presents. Now to focus on the baking and cleaning before I can finally relax.

Here's a video I came across from a friends facebook page. I love the message it gives. If you like, pass it along.

Charlie Brown Christmas

Remember that Christmas isn't all about the gifts... Remember what Christmas is all about.

P.S. We are so fortunate to be able to spend christmas in a nice warm house with food, gifts & our loved ones. But there are others who aren't as fortunate as us... Don't forget to donate to your local food bank - non-perishable food items, toys, diapers etc.

if at first you don't succeed, try try again.

Mckenzie has been trying SO hard to get up on her knees. She tries and tries and tries. She is so persistent, I love it! We also love her chubby little legs. Check those babies out!

christmas music 24/7

I love the Christmas season. This season I've been listening to christmas music all day everyday! Seriously - ask Mike haha. Anyways, I love the song 'baby it's cold outside' and so far this is my favorite version of it. This one is by Holly Cole. I heard it on the radio and fell in love! Enjoy!

Sadie is 3!!!!

A week ago, our princess turned 3 years old!! I still can't believe how big she is getting. It really seemed like yesterday she was learning how to crawl. The weekend of her birthday, we threw her a last minute birthday party (Mike and I figured, why not!). We invited some friends and neighbors over. Thank you to those who made it out with last minute invites! Mike and I really appreciate it and Sadie loved all her gifts!!

Here are just some pictures that happened over the weekend and on her birthday :)

She LOVED having us sing 'happy birthday' to her. She had us sing it about 3 - 4 times.

Blowing real hard.
P.S. I baked her strawberry cake with pink creamcheese buttercream frosting

Eating some birthday cake

2 hours before she woke up, I blew up some balloons and taped them all over the floor in the girls' room. It was easy to do but I had to be verrrry quiet to make sure I didn't wake her up. That was the hard part. When I got to my second last balloon, another balloon that I didn't tape down so well ended up floating to the ceiling and popped. And it was a LOUD pop! I froze and my heart was pretty much beating out of my chest, hoping Sadie didn't wake up from the loud pop. To my surprise, she didn't. Thank goodness. I taped the last two balloons down, grabbed a few of her building blocks and placed them over the tapes to secure it and bolted out of her room.

It was a success. She woke up, came downstairs and got me. We went back upstairs and I told her to turn the lights on... when she did, I heard her gasp and say "wowwww" haha. I really wish I got a picture of her reaction.

The eve of her birthday, daddy came home from work and we packed up the kiddies in our sweet mini van and off we went to see the christmas lights. After the christmas lights, we took her bowling. She called it baseball tho. Don't know where she got that from.

Daddy's turn.

Kenzie was a great spectator!

Sadie beat mommy and daddy. Woohoo!
Just a few Sadie-things:

She LOVES anything Princess and Wizard of Oz. It is so hard to get her to wear a shirt and pants. All she wants to wear are dresses because that's what Dorothy and the Princesses wear. She also got Aurora slippers for her birthday and when she is in the house, they are on at all times!

She loves doing puzzles.

She is very demanding and has a lot of attitude. Even sometimes daddy can't handle it... I don't even want to think about when she becomes a teen.

When she does something that she knows she's not supposed to do, she goes to time-out. When mommy does something she doesn't like, mommy goes to time-out.

She can count to 20 :)

She loves to pose and show off her dresses.

She is SO dramatic. Just ask anyone who knows her.

She loves McDonalds. Not because of the food, but because she meets so many new friends there. Mommy meets new friends there as well. But I love how she is can interact with other kids and get a long with them. Mind you, most of them are all older kids. She just loves the older kids.

She's very into using the word "NO!"

A few words/sayings that has been added to her vocabulary:

"geeze, mommy"

"oh my gosh"

"i'm wizard of oz"

"the sun is up, i'm awake. no more sleeping"

"oh pickles"

SIX MONTHS

Our little Kenzie girl is 6 months old today. I can't believe how much she has grown. She is THE most relaxed baby ever and is always so happy. She has so much patience (i'll admit, she gets that from her daddy). She can sit ... I mean, lay anywhere and wait quietly to be picked up. In the mornings, I don't exactly grab her right away from her crib when she wakes up because I just love listening to her talking to herself thru the monitor. It's the sweetest thing. She is now an expert at rolling over. I lay her on her back in one spot and immediately, she'll roll over onto her front. Then a few seconds later she will roll over on her back and so on. I would leave her for a minute or so and when I come back she is off the matt and chillin on the carpet. Now that she has aced rolling over, she is now trying to get on her hands and knees so she can start crawling. Poor girl, it's hard seeing her struggle and get frustrated over it. She will push herself up with her arms and slowly try to get up on her knees but always ends up falling forward cause her arms give out. She tries and tries and tries, so I know she'll get there soon. And when that day comes, that's when the gates go up ha ha.

It honestly seems like yesterday when I was watching Sadie try to crawl. Now it's Mckenzie. Speaking of Sadie, her birthday is in 9 days. Her THIRD birthday that is. Where does the time go??

here's a little video of Sadie and Mckenzie. Mckenzie sure loves her Sadie and Sadie sure loves her Kenzie.

happy halloween :)

Hope everyone had a great halloween! This year, the girls dressed up as princesses. Sadie as Snow White and Mckenzie (this being her first halloween) as Belle. I'm sure I can speak for both Mike and myself when I say that we're kind of glad that halloween is over because there are sparkles ALL over the house from Sadie's dress. Once she put on the costume, she would never want to take it off. Who could blame her, she looked so cute in it.

Mckenzie's first halloween. Our little 'Belle'.

I took the girls to the mall for some fun indoor trick or treating. This year, Sadie was able to say, "trick or treat, "happy halloween" and "thank you" a lot more clearer. After the mall, we headed to Mcdonalds. As we were leaving, a few people who worked there kept saying she was so cute and asked if Snow White wanted some ice cream. Obviously her answer was yes. They walked her behind the counter and she was able to make her own ice cream cone. She had the biggest smile on her face and was so amazed!!

Snow White all ready to go trick or treating

Daddy with Snow White
Mommy with Snow White

Sadie's first time trick or treating outside. Yay! And surprisingly enough, it wasn't too cold out. My plan was only to take her to a couple of houses but she really got into the whole knocking on the door and yelling out 'trick or treat!' that we went down our whole block and then some. There were a couple girls dressed as Snow White as well and when she would see them, she'd get so excited and say, "I'm Snow White too". She loved seeing the pumpkins on the steps. When it was getting pretty late, I'd tell Sadie, "o.k one more house and then home". Sadie would agree, but after we'd leave a house, she'd then say, "one more house o.k?" then after that house she'd say the same thing. 'One more house' ended up being 6 more houses. And when I would actually tell her, "o.k, Sadie, this is the last house". Her reply would be, "just one more house o.k, geeze mommy!". Such a fun time taking her tho. Can't wait until next year when Mckenzie will be able to walk around and collect candy for mommy and daddy - I mean, for herself.

Punkins

We carved pumpkins tonight. I haven't carved pumpkins in forever so when I started the whole cutting and cleaning, I realized that this takes up a lot of time! Nonetheless, it was fun times with the family. Mckenzie was up for half of the stenciling and carving and then put to bed. Sadie kept us entertained and 'helped' mommy stencil (helped as in, lightly held the top of the marker while mommy stenciled.)

After all the cleaning, stenciling, carving and more cleaning... we toasted some pumpkin seeds with salt and cinnamon. Yum!
I'm getting pretty excited for halloween. I can't wait to dress the girls up in their costumes and take them 'trick or treating'. This will also be Sadie's first year 'trick or treating' door to door. I'm not excited about going out in the cold, but we're only going to a few houses on our street.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe halloween!!!! :)

Sadie and Mckenzie's first Disney experience...

The Disney store is  new and improved at SouthCentre Mall and it looks so much better now. Sadie loved being in there and did not want to leave EVER! With the grand re-opening of the store came two of Walt Disney's friends - Minnie Mouse and Pluto (I'd like to say thanks to a couple friends for the phone call letting me know that this was all happening). We waited patiently in line to see either Minnie or Pluto... I was really hoping to see Minnie but she went on a break right when we got there :( haha. Anyways, Sadie was soooooo good waiting in line, didn't complain or anything. When we slowly crept towards the front of the line, Sadie was getting more excited. Getting closer, Sadie would try to get Pluto's attention by saying "woof woof" or she'd wave and say "hi Pluto!!". As all this was happening, I was thinking, "alright, Sadie is pretty excited about this. She isn't gonna cry when she sees him and everything will be fine". I was getting pretty excited myself. But when the time actually came to see and take a picture with Pluto, Sadie froze and was speechless. She stood behind my leg as I kindly forced her to wave hi to Pluto and say cheese to the camera. Pluto tried anything and everything to get Sadie to hug him and play but Sadie's facial expression said, "no dice". So he moved on to Mckenzie saying hi and would try to give her kisses with that big mouth of his but I don't think Mckenzie cared one bit. She had a straight confused face the whole time we were there. Didn't know what the heck was going on. So we just took the picture with Pluto and left. All in all, it was still fun to see a couple Disney characters and not have to travel all the way to California.

Mike and I have been talking about a trip to Disneyland but totally when the girls are older! ha ha!
