Halloween with Rapunzel and Tinkerbell

Painting and pumpkin carving the Sunday before Halloween. And this year was Mckenzie's first time trick-or-treating. Took the girls over to Chinook Mall and they had a blast! At first Mckenzie would give a weird look on the people's faces when they dropped candy in her little pail. But she got the hang of it after a couple stores. This year, my friend/neighbor and her adorable little guy came with. It's a lot more fun having another adult with ya that's for sure. And her little guy was so patient with the girls. Mckenzie did take forever going in and out of the stores but he was so quiet and laid back. Nothing bothered him.

Halloween night was a chilly one. With the snow already on the ground and weather being below 0, we dressed the girls up in layers, their winter jackets, toques and mitts. Mckenzie was such a trooper. We had only planned to take her to all of our neighbors houses but instead we did that and more. After about the 10th house, her eyes were watering and cheeks rosy red so we decided to call it quits for her. She definitely didn't like that idea. Every time we had trick-or-treaters, she would try to make a run for it outside and tag a long with the others. It definitely gets tiring being 38 weeks pregnant and chasing an 18 month old 5 or 6 times. Sadie went to a few more houses down the street. She went to a house with an elderly lady living in it and she didn't have candy to give her, so she gave Sadie money instead. After that, Sadie was pretty much done haha. She didn't want to hold her bag anymore cause she had to keep her money safe (after all, that's what the lady told her). All in all, it was a good Halloween for the girls.

I guess I spoke too soon about having more free time since being a stay at home mom. It's been pretty hectic here. Visiting with friends & neighbors, doctor appointments, family time and just trying to get the girls out as much as possible before their baby brother comes.

For now, here are pictures from what we've been doing these past few weeks.

 all ready for the library

 Mckenzie found the coloring table

 Sadie's first library card
Visiting Auntie Trezzy at her work. Sadie got her nails done and Mckenzie hung out at her station

my mom getting her nails done too!

Mckenzie would sit at the entrance and wave bye to who ever walked or drove by the salon.
Auntie Trezzy attempted to paint Mckenzie nails but had no luck LOL

As for baby news. He's definitely testing mommy's patience. So we're still waiting.......

I'm back....

And same with these two little cuties with a new addition on the way.
We are patiently waiting for the arrival of our baby boy/brother. Less than 6 weeks to go :)

Figured I'll have a little time to spare blogging since I've joined the SAHM club.

happy halloween :)

Hope everyone had a great halloween! This year, the girls dressed up as princesses. Sadie as Snow White and Mckenzie (this being her first halloween) as Belle. I'm sure I can speak for both Mike and myself when I say that we're kind of glad that halloween is over because there are sparkles ALL over the house from Sadie's dress. Once she put on the costume, she would never want to take it off. Who could blame her, she looked so cute in it.

Mckenzie's first halloween. Our little 'Belle'.

I took the girls to the mall for some fun indoor trick or treating. This year, Sadie was able to say, "trick or treat, "happy halloween" and "thank you" a lot more clearer. After the mall, we headed to Mcdonalds. As we were leaving, a few people who worked there kept saying she was so cute and asked if Snow White wanted some ice cream. Obviously her answer was yes. They walked her behind the counter and she was able to make her own ice cream cone. She had the biggest smile on her face and was so amazed!!

Snow White all ready to go trick or treating

Daddy with Snow White
Mommy with Snow White

Sadie's first time trick or treating outside. Yay! And surprisingly enough, it wasn't too cold out. My plan was only to take her to a couple of houses but she really got into the whole knocking on the door and yelling out 'trick or treat!' that we went down our whole block and then some. There were a couple girls dressed as Snow White as well and when she would see them, she'd get so excited and say, "I'm Snow White too". She loved seeing the pumpkins on the steps. When it was getting pretty late, I'd tell Sadie, "o.k one more house and then home". Sadie would agree, but after we'd leave a house, she'd then say, "one more house o.k?" then after that house she'd say the same thing. 'One more house' ended up being 6 more houses. And when I would actually tell her, "o.k, Sadie, this is the last house". Her reply would be, "just one more house o.k, geeze mommy!". Such a fun time taking her tho. Can't wait until next year when Mckenzie will be able to walk around and collect candy for mommy and daddy - I mean, for herself.
