all aboard!

I got a new family doctor for me and Sadie a couple weeks ago since her previous doctor was all the in the north east... I thought rather than driving a half an hour to and from the doctors, why not get a new one. So this family doctor of ours is located right inside a Wal-Mart as well and right by the entrance there is a little hot dog/ice cream truck that Sadie LOVES to ride on!

So it's become a doctor visit thing to ride on this truck either before or after our visit. It's funny cause she knows where to go now so once we step into wal-mart or the doctors office, she tries to make it straight to her favorite ride.

It's all fun and dandy until it's time to go... if she could, she'd stay in there forever.

poor sick sadie :(

Happy 2011 everyone!! We hope everyone had a great night ringing in the new year.

As for Sadie, i'm sure it's safe to say that she's had better nights. She was so sick new years eve. She was up all night cause she had a fever and was coughing so much, nose was stuffed, and tried as hard as she could to not throw up. I was up with her early morning holding her and trying to rock her to sleep but she just couldn't sleep. And everytime she did fall asleep, I would try to lay her in her bed, but she would wake up and cry with her arms out. Finally at 730 in the morning, new years day, she was out and I was able to lay her down. My arms were so sore from carrying her. Definitely made me realize that Sadie isn't a little babe anymore.

A couple days passed and her fever just wouldn't go away so we went to see the doctor and he said that she had some sort of infant virus... Poor girl had no energy at all when he was looking at her. She was slouched, eyes half open and cheeks as red as Santa Claus.

We came home and she was in and out of her sleep all night.

She's a little better today, still throwing up but has alot more energy than before. Hopefully she gets well soon. Although, she is a lot more cuddly, which I absolutely LOVE! These past couple days, we've just cuddled on the couch and would watch movies or her tv shows all day.

Winter Wonderland

Sophia and Julius took Sadie out in their backyard and played in the snow. It took them a while to get her to actually start playing in the snow after pathways were made and even a slide was made by Sophia, but she now LOVES the snow! woohoo!

love and christmas :)

A few days ago I was feeling so upset. This whole pregnancy has turned me into a crying machine. I cry to anything, everything and ALL THE TIME! But this day I was feeling so down. Don't even know why I was so upset. I called Mike right when I got up and we talked... then I started crying like a little school girl. He kept asking me what was wrong and I couldn't even answer. I just told him that I was feeling really upset and I had lost my appetite. I actually didn't feel like eating for days. Let's just say me and hormones -- we are not friends right now. We talked some more, he cracked a few jokes which made me laugh a little. He always knows how to make me laugh or smile, even at times when I try so hard not to.
Anyways, I did some cleaning and laundry that day. When Mike got home, I was upstairs putting sheets on Sadie's bed. I go downstairs and I see flowers on the counter. It seriously put a huuuuuge smile on my face. Mike walked in the room and I couldn't help but run over to him and give him a big hug and kiss. He then got ready and he took me out to eat, rather than me cooking dinner. He told me that we can go where ever my craving takes us. I'm embarrassed to say, but my craving took us to Boston Pizza... ugh, where has my taste in food gone to? Honestly, I was craving their cactus cuts soooo bad! It was well worth it. I could have eaten cactus cuts all night if I could.

We then picked up Sadie from my mom's house and brought her home and started decorating the tree. Well, I decorated the tree, Mike helped on the couch, telling me where the empty spaces were and Sadie helped by giving me the ornaments and tossing around the rest of the christmas decorations. I tried giving Sadie an ornament to put on the tree but she just wouldn't have it lol. Mike has santa claus and snowman doll type thing and Sadie carries it around the house calling it baby. It's pretty funny and I try to correct her by telling her that it's Santa but she says "no, baby".

Where's Sadie?

Right now, Sadie LOVES her stuffies. She carries them around everywhere... and throughout the day I find trails of her stuffies in different rooms all over the house. In the morning, i'll wake up and then see if she is awake. As always, she is awake and when I open the door, she is on her bed playing with her dolls and stuffies. And before she goes to bed, i'm normally not with her, but my guess is she plays with her stuffies until she falls asleep because when I woke her up from her nap yesterday, I find this....

When I put her to bed, she usually likes having 2 or 3 of her stuffies laying beside her. I guess this time, she wanted all of them around her. Can I also add the fact that she's been so good in the mornings and especially at bed time??! I'm finally developing a routine for her for bedtime... she has dinner, wait a half hour or so then bath time. After bath time, I let her watch some t.v or play for a half hour.

We then brush our teeth (which she has been such a team player... who knew getting her to say "cheese" and "aaahhh" would actually work). So no more wrestling to get her teeth brushed. I've actually let her hold her toothbrush while I "help" her brush her teeth. So far so good :).

After our teeth are brushed, we pick out a bedtime book (mostly it's In the Night Garden book), she sits on her bed under her covers and we say a prayer. She's gotten so used to saying prayer that she will actually get in bed and lay her book on her lap then fold her arms and wait for mommy to say prayer. It's the cutest thing! So after prayer, we read a couple pages of the book and she closes the book and says "nigh nigh" grabs her blankie and lays down with her bottle.

I'm trying to figure out how to get her off the bottle but in the mean time getting her to bed without screaming tantrums is good enough. Baby steps, I guess you can say. Next step will have to be the bottle.

I am so happy about how things are going with her. I used to leave her door open and the hallway light open just incase she was crying or anything but Mike brought up the idea of maybe leaving her door closed. I was a little hesitant to do that cause I'm always worrying about her but it would def save me waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning with her tugging on my side of the bed and waking up. When I left her door open, she would wake up in the middle of the night and walk to our bedroom and crawl into bed with us. I was fine with it till she would actually stay awake and I would get no sleep. So I tried the whole leaving the door closed and it's been a success so far.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, and I can finally see it! haha
